CCCL powered by Medtronic: Practice #5

First of all, I hope you all like Cimon's proposed name and T-shirt! I love it!

Second, just a few words about Tuesday night's practice. As you all saw, once we managed to paddle together in a smooth rhythm at slower speeds, it made the boat move a lot better when we went to increase the stroke rate and power. We will continue working this way. Since we only had about 12 people out the other night, I am going to structure tonight's practice in a similar way (and hope that people who weren't there on Tuesday come tonight!)

A few things to remember:

- Don't rush the stroke! It's important for you to watch the person in front of you and not enter the water before they do. We don't want to fall into the trap of the caterpillar effect!
- Remember the big "A" shape when you paddle. Top arm nice and straight (but not locked out) and reached out, with the bottom arm extended and the body reaching forward. As we talked about last time, you pull with your body, not your arms.
- When you get tired, think of technique!

So, here is tonight's practice:

- 10 minutes technique and warm-up.
- 2 x 2 paddling
- 5 x 3' (1@70%, 1'@80%, 1'@ 90%) 3'R. All hit and glide.
- Starts: Review of first 5 and 10. Additional 5 sprint strokes and transition (if time permits.)

See you all tonight!

Good morning all.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Tonight's practice will be the following:

- 10-15 minutes technique
- 2x2 paddling
- 2 x (3', 2', 1') with equal rest. All hit and glide with technical focus. 3' @ 70%, 2' @ 80%, 1' @ 90%.
- Starts: Review of first 5 strokes, next 15 sprint and introduction to transition.
