Greetings everyone.
Well, it's raining again. What happened to summer? Actually, it's not even officially summer yet, is it? I guess we can't complain then, eh?
Anyway, tonight's practice is going to be a TBD again. It looks as though people are leaning toward doing the Montreal festival at the end of July, so 500 metres will be our focus until then. However, tonight I would like to spend some more time working on technique if we can. For those of you who weren't there on Tuesday, we did a lot of work and started to focus on some aspects of our paddling that will make us more efficient, not only individually, but as a boat. I would like to continue that tonight for those who were there on Tuesday and for all (and by all I mean as many as possible) of you who will be coming tonight.
See you all on the water. Dress warm!
P.S. If you haven't already responded to Annie's e-mail about the June 24th and July 1st practices, as well as which festivals you would like to race, please do!

First things first, great job everyone at the festival on Saturday! The improvements we have made since last year are already quite impressive and I am very optimistic for the rest of the summer! I hope everyone had a relaxing Sunday and that you are all recovering well.
Tonight's practice is TBD (to be determined.) The reason for this is simply that we have to decide which festivals we are going to participate in for the rest of the summer in order for me to plan the training accordingly. Planning a program for 500-metre or 250-metre races can be quite different.
The other reason it is TBD is that we may be missing a few people tonight and the weather is looking a touch precarious. I know that Shannah, Marco, Annie and Kent won't be there. So, try to show up tonight please! The more we have, the better. That being said, keep an eye on the weather. There is a chance of thunderstorms tonight. If it is just raining, come on out. If there's a storm within 30 minutes of our practice time, that may change things.
See you all tonight! (hopefully...)

Thursday June 12, 2008
Good morning everyone.
Tonight's practice will be a slightly modified version Tuesday's practice that was canceled.
This is the last practice before the festival, so, the more people, the better!
See you on the water!

It's race week everyone! I hope you are all resting and getting eager to compete!
According to Environment Canada, we have some thunderstorm warnings for the area. The probability is around 30% at this point, but keep an eye on the sky to see what is happening.
Last week was fairly hard, training wise. Tonight will be hard, but not as hard as what we've been doing. Thursday night will be easy, but it is still important to show up and have as many people in the boat as possible!
Tonight's practice:
- 10-15' warm-up and technique
- 2 x 2 paddling
- 6 x 1' / 3'R (Start, 80 %, Finish) I will explain this more tonight.
See you all on the water!

Thursday June 5, 2008
Good morning everyone.
I hope no one is too tired from Tuesday night's practice. Tonight is another tough one!
- 10 minute warm-up and technique
- 2 x 2 paddling
- 3 x (1' @100%, 1'R, 1'@100%, 45"R, 1'@100%, 30"R, 1'@100%) 3-5'R.
- Starts (if we have time and energy left!)
See you all tonight.
By the way, Tuesday night's practice was great for a few reasons. First, we had 19 people out! Second, the water was the nicest I have seen it in a long, long time. And third, the effort level and enthusiasm was great. Keep it up everyone.

Good morning all!
First, my continued apologies for Thursday night's practice. It seems that the weather calmed down significantly and we would have been able to go out. However, that's the nature of, well, nature. I didn't want to bring you all in from different parts of the city only to find out that we couldn't go out. It's always a tough call. We'll make it up.
Alright, down to business.
Tonight's practice:
- 10 minutes warm-up and technique
- 2 x 2 paddling
- 3 x (200m, 150m, 100m, 50m). Max effort. Roughly equal rest. Alternating with starts.
As Cimon noted in his e-mail yesterday, there are just 4 more practices before Lachine! Let's go for a record night of attendance!
See you all there.
